H.B. McLain talked about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He was a Dallas motorcycle officer in the president’s motorcade on November 22, 1963. He talked about what happened that day and his involvement in investigations of the assassination. In particular he refuted the theory that the sound of the shots was heard over his open microphone and offered his explanation of the recording.

This oral history was recorded on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Dallas, for the 40th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The interview was conducted by the museum’s oral historian, Stephen Fagin. close
