Michael Rosen talked about his book What Else but Home: Seven Boys and an American Journey Between the Projects and the Penthouse (PublicAffairs; July 28, 2009). In his book he tells the story of how his son, an upper-middle class New York City boy, went out to play baseball with the kids on the lot across the street. He invited them home to the family penthouse for a snack, and his parents eventually took all of them out of the projects and put them through school. Mr. Rosen talked about turning his family of four into a family of nine. The guest interviewer was John Hope Byrant, chief executive officer of Operation HOPE.

Michael Rosen is a former real estate developer and investor who had been a Wall Street CEO and an assistant professor at New York University. He is the author of Turning Words, Spinning Worlds.
