Paul Cuadros talked about his book A Home on the Field: How One Championship Team Inspires Hope for the Revival of Small Town America (Rayo; September 5, 2006). In his book he recounts the struggles of Mexican high school students in Siler City, N.C., to play soccer in a football town. An investigtive reporter of Peruvian descent, Mr. Cuadros uses them to illustrate the “Latino Diaspora” in the Southeast. The book was used in the University of North Carolina freshman summer reading program.
