Star Parker talked about how those who identify themselves as “values voters” are responding to fiscal and social decisions by the Obama administration. Ms. Parker was one of the speakers at the “Values Voter Summit” held during the week by the Family Research Council. She also talked about the controversy over whether President Obama was being criticized for his race or for his policies. During the week, former President Carter said that race was an overwhelming factor in criticism of President Obama from people such as Representative Joe Wilson and some of the demonstrators at the Tea Party rallies. Ms. Parker noted that President Obama’s positions do not represent all blacks and that the political left has used race as a distraction. She responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.

Also shown was a video clip of a discussion between Representative Michael Turner and reporter James Kitfield recorded on September 18, 2009, for “Newsmakers.” close
