President Obama delivered remarks on the economy at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York. In his remarks he talked about his administration’s use of more than $100 million federal stimulus funds for infrastructure and education support. He addressed the decline of manufacturing jobs and subsequent loss of young workers in the upstate New York area while offering encouragement, saying, “As we emerge from this current economic crisis....We have to choose to do what past generations have done: shape a brighter future through hard work and innovation.” He also criticized banks that oppose legislation to overhaul federal student loan programs. close
