President Obama chaired the U.N. Security Council meeting on nuclear proliferation. President Obama said in his remarks that the United Nations had a “pivotal role to play” in preventing a nuclear crisis. Leaders of other member nations also spoke during the session and focused on potential action to prevent the spread of atomic weapons. The Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution committing to work toward a nuclear weapons-free world.
