William Kelso talked about the archaeological discoveries at the site of the 1607 James Fort at Jamestown, Virginia, which offer new perspectives to the contemporaneous accounts of the first permanent English colonial settlement. He focused on the importance of the arrival of the re-supply ships of Sir Thomas Gates from Bermuda and Lord De La Warre from London in saving the colony from disaster in 1610.
