Cabinet Secretaries Sebelius, Napolitano, and Duncan testified on efforts to monitor national response to the H1N1 flu virus. Since September 2009, more than 300 U.S. citizens have died from the virus, most under the age of 65. Among the topics addressed were shortages of the flu vaccine due to production delays, hospital and public health department capacities, intravenous and anti-viral medications, and the ability of public health agencies to stay ahead of the spread of the virus. close
