In the afternoon session of the first day of a markup of climate change and energy legislation, Chairman Boxer announced that the first part of the meeting was not officially part of the markup, but an opportunity for Senators to hear a briefing from and question David McInstosh, EPA Associate Administrator, about his agency’s analysis of the Senate and House legislation. Unlike the morning meeting, only Committee Democrats were present for this session. Following questions for Mr. McIntosh, the committee recessed for about 15 minutes and then officially resumed the markup which only lasted a few minutes where Senator Boxer entered letters of support to the bill. close
