Panelists talked about nutrition, school feeding programs and food security in the developing world. Panelists talked about what led to the current crisis, priorities going forward, and mobilizing funds for non-emergency assistance. Following their discussion they responded to questions from audience members.

The moderator Homi Kharas began the program by reading ten facts about world hunger. The facts included that the global percentage of undernourished is 17 percent, 60 percent of the chronically hungry are women, 200 million of the undernourished live in sub-Saharan Africa, 150 million children under the age of five are underweight, and twenty percent of infant mortality deaths can be traced to malnutrition. close
