President Obama and Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh held a joint news conference. President Obama in his introduction of the prime minister said that among the issues the two had addressed were global climate change, intelligence sharing, and trade, and declared, “The relationship between the United States and India will be one of the defining partnerships of the 21st century.” They also said the countries were committed to completing a bilateral civil agreement that would open up India’s potential $150 billion market in nuclear power plants.
