President Obama delivered remarks on the economy and job creation at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania. He announced that the latest Labor Department statistics showed that the number of jobs lost in November 2009 was 11,000 and the unemployment rate fell to 10%. He stated, though, that, “I still consider one job lost one job too many,” and “Good trends don’t pay the rent.” He spoke about an address he was to give the following week about proposals to Congress for encourage private sector hiring, saying, "We need to grow jobs and get America back to work as quickly as we can. close
