The Senate Banking Committee voted out of committee the nomination of Ben Bernanke to continue as Chairman of the Federal Reserve. The vote was 16 to 7 to send the nomination to the Senate floor. Senator Sanders announced that he will place a hold on Mr. Bernanke’s nomination.

Time Magazine announced the previous day the selection of Chairman Bernanke as the "Person of the Year". close
