Secretary Gates and Secretary Clinton testified about 2010 supplemental spending requests for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. They urged senators to approve a $37.5 billion request and said they were optimistic about operations to combat Taliban forces, but warned that it could take several months to see visible results. The supplemental request sought funds for a number of programs including all-terrain armored vehicles and additional funding for Afghan security forces. close
