Irwin Stelzer spoke on economic theory and what the financial crisis means for American-style capitalism, and for conservative economic thought. He said the crisis has given his ideology “a collision with reality.” He stated he doesn’t have an answer, but proposes some ideas for a “new capitalism” that go against the grain of conservative economic orthodoxy. He responded to audience members' questions following his remarks. close
