Robert McElvaine talked about the book he editted, Down and Out in the Great Depression: Letters from the Forgotten Man (The University of North Carolina Press; 25th anniversary edition, December 18, 2007). The books consist of letters from ordinary Americans, mainly to President and Mrs. Franklin Roosevelt. He also talked about his book The Great Depression: America 1929-1941 (Crown; January 12, 1984).
