The Commission on Wartime Contracting held a hearing on improving the federal government’s planning and oversight of billions of dollars in services contracts for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Commissioners said reforms have taken too long and noted a lack of urgency in fixing problems. Witnesses testified about progress made to date and spoke about various initiatives to continue improvement, including expanding the number of personnel in the Department of Defense acquisition workforce. close
