Patrick Corvington talked about the role and impact of volunteering and community service in the U.S. National Volunteer Week (April 18 - 24) marks the first anniversary of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. President Obama, a former community organizer, signed the act on April 21, 2009. The legislation aims to triple the number of Americans in national service programs and triple the number of AmeriCorps volunteers to 250,000 by 2017. Mr. Corvington also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
