Following opening remarks by Margaret Spellings, Tom Donohue, Joel Kotkin, and Delore Zimmerman talked about the Chamber of Commerce’s new report, Enterprising States, on how the American system of free enterprise can create 20 million new jobs in the next ten years. Afterward, governors from six states talked about the U.S. economy and job creation. Governor Tim Pawlenty, who co-chaired the summit, spoke about the student preparation for the workforce post-high and said that states should be leaders in innovation and improving the economy. close
