Candidates running for governor of Rhode Island to replace Republican Governor Don Carcieri, who is term limited, debated various issues. The Democratic candidates are State Treasurer Frank Caprio and State Attorney General Patrick Lynch, and John Robitaille and Victor Moffitt are the Republican candidates. Former Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee is running as an independent, and Ken Block represented the Moderate Party. WPRI investigative reporter Tim White moderated. The state holds its semi-closed primary on September 14. close
