Carl-Henric Svanberg spoke to reporters outside the White House following a meeting with President Obama in which he pledged to set aside $20 billion to pay for damages caused by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. In his remarks he expressed regret for the incident and apologized to the American people, saying both BP and the president were on the side of the “small people.” close
