A “celebration of life” memorial service was held for Senator Robert Byrd at the West Virginia State Capitol. Presidents Obama, Clinton and Vice President Biden, along with dignitaries, spoke at the service. During the eulogy, President Obama noted, “He was my friend, that is how I will remember him.” The service included blue grass music, a singalong to John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” patriotic tunes performed by a military band, and a bagpipe rendition of “Amazing Grace.” close
