Representatives from eBay and Facebook talked about new developments in technology and how people use new media to affect change in political conflicts. They also responded to questions from the audience.

Colin Rule talked about conflict resolution, arguing that studies should not only focus on places in conflict but also places where conflict has been resolved to see how social media has been used in that area. He characterized the current use of social media for journalism as the “wild west” of new media. close
