Jonathan Martin talked by phone about the previous day’s meeting between President Obama, his senior aides, and House Democratic leadership. The meeting occurred amid tensions created following White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs' comments on “Meet the Press” in which he asserted that Democrats could lose control of the House in midterm elections. Mr. Martin also talked about the Politico story on a White House memo outlining efforts to preserve the Democrats' majority.
