President Obama signed the financial regulations bill into law at a ceremony with congressional Democrats. He said the legislation would prevent future taxpayer-funded bailouts of financial firms and would protect consumers from abusive business practices. The legislation, titled the “Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act,” passed largely along party lines. close
