John Boyd talked about Senate action on the settlement of long-standing racial discrimination claims by African-American farmers against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Mr. Boyd also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. In a 1999 class-action lawsuit, a federal judge ruled that the USDA was guilty of discrimination against black farmers. These claims stem from that decision, as over 70,000 farmers have not received their share of money from the 1999 settlement.
