Harold Varmus talked about his book The Art and Politics of Science (W.W. Norton and Co., 2009). Dr. Varmus, director of the National Cancer Institute is a former director of the National Institutes of Health and co-recipient of a Nobel Prize for studies of the genetic basis of cancer. He is currently a science adviser to President Obama.

He was interviewed while at the 10th annual National Book Festival, held on the National Mall.
