President Obama spoke about the results of the previous day’s 2010 midterm elections. He said that the gains made by Republicans and the loss of the control of the House of Representatives was “humbling,” but also called on Congress to find common ground to overcome challenges facing both parties. He was introspective about his record as he answered several questions about the state of the economy, health care reform legislation, the military ban on service by openly gay and lesbian personnel, and the public perceptions of the electorate. close
