C-SPAN Radio’s Nancy Calo read news headlines at the end of the program.
Thea Lee talked about the practice of companies moving U.S. jobs overseas for cheaper labor, and she responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. The AFL-CIO has recently started a searchable database that tracks companies sending jobs overseas by zip code. A clip was shown of a “Washington Journal” appearance by former Secretary of Defense William Cohen in which he argued that the outsourcing of jobs overseas can create more jobs in the U.S.
