Thea Lee talked about the practice of companies moving U.S. jobs overseas for cheaper labor, and she responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. The AFL-CIO has recently started a searchable database that tracks companies sending jobs overseas by zip code. A clip was shown of a “Washington Journal” appearance by former Secretary of Defense William Cohen in which he argued that the outsourcing of jobs overseas can create more jobs in the U.S.
