Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the transfer of budget assistance funds to the Palestinian Authority. The purpose of the aid is to help close the budget deficit and strengthen the economy and infrastructure in the Palestinian Authority. Other topics included Middle East peace talks and Israel’s recent decision to authorize new settlement construction in East Jerusalem.
