Angelo Codevilla was awarded the Intercollegiate Studies Institute’s 2010 Paolucci/Bagehot Book Award for his book, Advice to War Presidents: A Remedial Course in Statecraft (Basic Books). The book looks at foreign policy decisions of leaders going back to ancient Greece and argues that instead of following popular schools of thought (realism, liberal internationalism, neoliberalism), American presidents should master the tools of diplomacy and war and use them when needed. At the award ceremony at the Greenville Country Club Professor Codevilla talked about his book and responded to questions from members of the audience. close
