Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy
Eric Metaxas recounts the life of Lutheran pastor and author Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945). A anti-Nazi activist, Bonhoeffer believed that Christians had an obligation to defend the Jews in Germany and participated in acts to sabotage the Third Reich, including his involvement in a failed plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was arrested following the assassination attempt and was executed at the Flossenburg concentration camp in April 1945. Eric Metaxas discussed his book at the Central Queens Y in Forest Hills, New York. close
