Presidential scholar David Pietrusza reflected on the legacy of President Calvin Coolidge. He looked at the forces that shaped the 30th president’s political philosophy and why “Silent Cal” never wasted or minced words. Mr. Pietrusza is the author of Silent Cal’s Almanack: The Homespun Wit and Wisdom of Vermont’s Calvin Coolidge (CreateSpace, 2008). He responded to questions submitted by members of the audience and the moderator, Gerard Jones.

“Coolidge’s Political Philosophy and World View” was a presentation at the 50th Anniversary of the Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation Symposium, held at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. close
