New York Times Debate In his book Gray Lady Down: What the Decline and Fall of the New York Times Means for America, William McGowan argues that The New York Times has adopted a liberal ideological agenda under the tenure of current publisher Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. By doing so, he contends, the newspaper has tarnished its reputation as a trusted news source and needs to reform to remain relevant. William McGowan presented his arguments in a debate with Michael Tomasky, American editor-at-large for the Guardian. Fred Siegel moderated.

“Is the New York Times Good for Democracy?” was a program held at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, New York, co-sponsored by the Manhattan Institute. close
