The House Armed Services Committee held a hearing on the management of Arlington National Cemetery. Witnesses said news reports had shattered public trust in Arlington National Cemetery, and that cemetery officials were working to resolve the problems found by the inspector general. The previous year, an Army inspector general’s report found graves that were wrongly marked or had no headstones, and made note of the outdated record-keeping system. close
