Fred Burton, former deputy chief of the Counterterrorism Division of the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service, talked about the assassination of his neighbor, Israeli assistant air attache Josef Alon, in 1973 (when Burton was 16). After a lengthy investigation by U.S. and Israeli authorities the case went cold, but was reopened by Mr. Burton in 1986 when he was at the State Department. This book launch event at noon on April 12, 2011, was at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
