Members of Congress gathered in the Capitol Rotunda to dedicate a statue of former President Gerald Ford as one of Michigan’s statues. Two of the former president’s children spoke. President Ford served in the U.S. House from 1949 until taking the office of vice president in 1973. He served as the Republican minority leader for his last eight years in the House. close
