House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) spoke to business and banking executives about the national debt and the federal budget. In his remarks he said that Congress would raise the debt ceiling before the August recess and called for spending cuts greater than the increase in the debt limit. He said that cuts must be “actual cuts and program reforms, not broad deficit or debt targets that punt the tough questions to the future.” close
