Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Gilani addressed the National Assembly for the first time since the May 1, 2011, killing by U.S. forces of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The prime minister emphatically denied any knowledge of Osama bin Laden’s hideout in his country. He began his speech on the history of Pakistan and transitioned into points on how Pakistan cannot be held responsible for al Qaeda’s actions. He concluded with the Pakistan-U.S. relations and blamed media for the spin on comments made about Pakistan’s role. close
