Officials testified about Peace Corps volunteers who were raped in their host countries, the plight of women serving in sometimes hostile cultures, and mental health consequences of rape. Peace Corps Director Aaron Williams promised to put an end to the “blaming the victim” mentality, and to get rid of a Peace Corps training video which features sexual assault victims describing what they had done wrong to bring on attacks. close
