Senator McCain, who was the ranking member on the Armed Services Committee, received the Dean Acheson award at this event.
Senator John McCain (R-AZ) talked about the status of U.S. interests in the Middle East. He said the Senate was close to finishing legislation freeing Libyan assets for use by the opposition forces. He also said the U.S. should do everything it could, short of military action, to aid protestors in Syria.
