Bipartisan Action on Budget Deficit and and Debt Reduction Judy Woodruff interviewed four of the five remaining “Gang of Six” senators who are attempting to create a bipartisan plan for reducing the budget deficit and national debt, Senators Saxby Chambliss, Dick Durbin, Mark Warner, and Mike Crapo. Senator Kent Conrad was unavailable, and Senator Tom Coburn dropped out of the group. They discussed how their group differs from the group working with Vice President Biden for the same purpose, as well as tax increases and entitlement cuts.
At the end of this portion of the event, two videos were shown. Each was a budget reduction plan presentation, one produced by the Heritage Foundation and the other by the Roosevelt Campus Network. close
