A 20th anniversary tribute was paid to the men and women killed in the 1991 Gulf War. Retired General Barry McCaffrey spoke, and a wreath was laid by other commanding officers from Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. A specially designed flag was raised, and granite paving stones inscribed with the names of the dead were unveiled. Music included taps and singing the Army song.

This Gulf War Twentieth Anniversary National Tribute was held on the parade field of the National Infantry Museum, located adjacent to Fort Benning. This event occurred immediately after the graduation of a new company from Fort Benning’s Infantry School. close
