Sonya Ross and Mark Faram talked about their experiences as reporters on September 11, 2001. Mark Faram, senior staff writer for Navy Times, was one of the first photographers on the scene at the Pentagon after American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the building. His images were widely used on newspaper front pages. Sonya Ross, with AP, was the print pool reporter who accompanied President Bush on Air Force One as he was evacuated to safety. She was the first and only newspaper reporter in history to have performed this duty. Photographs from that day were shown, as well as Mark Faram’s video in the Newseum exhibit, “9/11: How it Changed Us.”
