Ronald Welch testified at a hearing on a government sting operation aimed at gun smugglers known as “Operation Fast and Furious.” He responded to questions about allegations that that weapons supplied by the government to gun smugglers as part of the operation ended up in the possession of Mexican drug cartels, saying the charges have given rise to “serious questions,” but refused to say who authorized the program, citing ongoing investigations. close
