President Obama held a news conference in the East Room of the White House. He focused on budget negotiations between the White House and Congress, and the need to raise the debt ceiling. He also called for some revenue increases, to include closing some tax loopholes for wealthy citizens such as “corporate jet owners.” He also answered questions from reporters about a number of issues including operations in Libya, the War Powers Act, and the economy. He declined to answer several questions about same-sex marriage. close
