President Obama spoke to reporters about the status of ongoing negotiations with congressional leaders on a budget deficit and national debt agreement. He said that he was continuing to push for the largest possible deal and that he will not consider a short-term resolution. He also said that he was willing to accept criticism from Democratic Party members, urging Republican leaders to similarly stand up to their base of support. close
