The Senate Armed Services Committee held a confirmation hearing for Joint Chiefs of Staff vice chair, Army chief of staff, and the head of the U.S. Transportation Command. Among the topics they addressed were future defense budget cuts, various weapons programs, and military operations overseas. In his remarks General Odierno warned about Iranian influence in Iraq and commented on plans reduce the size of the Army as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq wound down. close
