Among the topics they addressed were political unrest and anti-government demonstrations in the Middle East and North Africa, missile defense programs in Eastern Europe, international trade policy, and regional security issues. Ambassador Ford provided an opening statement in this portion but was questioned separately in a second part of the hearing. close
